On February 14, 2021, Morehouse College lost a true icon to the ideals of leadership and service. Dean Maurice Washington was like a father to many and encouraged thousands of Men of Morehouse and Morehouse Men. He dedicated 13 years of his life to developing men with disciplined minds that would lead lives of leadership and service. He worked to empower the lives of young black men that wanted to go off into the world and do something great. He encouraged, influenced, and mentored so many, and for this many of us are in debt to Dean Washington. When God blesses someone with a kind heart and a passion for others you must take a moment to celebrate them. Dean Washington was a kind heart and a gentle spirit that resonated with so many over the year. Although he didn't graduate from Morehouse College, Dean Washington is a living embodiment of what it means to be a Black Male leader and Morehouse Man.
