The Late Night Happy Hour with Andy and Brian Kamenetzky episodes

  • October 12, 2020 - Zach Schwartz
The ring is complete. Zach Schwartz, the third host of Yahoo's excellent Dunk Bait podcast, joins the show talking about the joy of his Lakers winning a title, going to high school next to Slava Medvedenko's house, Dwight Howard, serving as a rebounder for Kendall Marshall workouts, and more.
Plus, a game! Current vs. former Lakers in important playoff statistical averages.

  • October 9, 2020 -- Game 5, NBA Finals
Holy sports, that was a game!
The Lakers, with a 3-1 lead, earned three cracks at closing out the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. They're down to two following Friday's 111-108 loss. Jimmy Butler again went nuclear, matching LeBron James, while the Heat got just enough from the supporting cast (Duncan Robinson, Kendrick Nunn) to hold off L.A.
Anthony Davis got hurt during the game, and while he finished it was with a sizable limp. What's his health status going to be on Sunday for Game 6?
Will the Lakers supporting cast rebound from a horrible collective effort?
And, finallly, LeBron made the right pass, right? (You know what we're referring to...)

  • October 8, 2020 - Wosny Lambre
One of the best minds, and not suprisingly then, best podcast voices around, Wosny Lambre (The Athletic NBA Show, Black Opinions Matter) joins the show talking Tom Brady, the NBA Finals, the brilliance of LeBron James, and much more.

  • October 7, 2020 - Greg Bergman
The Dodgers are up 2-0 on the Padres in the National League Championship Series, but it wasn't easy getting there. Is Kenley Jansen done as LA's closer? If yes, who is next in line?
Greg Bergman of 710 ESPN joins, talking about his heart attack-inducing Dodgers and a tense Game 2. Is this the year Clayton Kershaw finally, seriously, for real gets over the postseason hump, thanks to only pitched in a 60 game regular campaign?
What would mean more, a Lakers championship or one for the Dodgers? And is there any chance fans behave responsibly and don't assemble should either/both team/s win? What might work instead?
    Plus... switchblades!

  • October 6, 2020 - Harrison Sanford
It wasn't easy, but the Los Angeles Lakers managed to grit and grind their way to a Game 4 win in the NBA Finals, taking a 3-1 lead over the Miami Heat.
Harrison Sanford, host of the "Inside the Green Room" and "Call to the Booth" joins to break it down.
Why has Anthony Davis been so valuable defensively? What has he delivered these playoffs on that end? What credit does Frank Vogel deserve for how the Lakers are playing? LeBron?

  • October 5, 2020 - Josiah Johnson
He's among the best follows on social media, and a host of the fantastic Dunk Bait podcast on Yahoo! Sports. Monday, Josiah Johnson joined the Late Night Happy Hour, talking NBA Finals and where the Lakers went wrong in Game 3, 7-dimensional chess conspiracy theory regarding LeBron James sabotaging the Los Angeles Clippers. (Which, with it, brought some interesting Donald Sterling stories.)
Also, should Luol Deng get a ring? He's getting a check, after all!
    Plus...
Stories of the lengths young people had to go to find r-rated content back in the 80s, air fryers, and more.
Great show with a fantastic guest.

  • October 2, 2020 - Game 2 Review, and Vinny Bonsignore!
In Game 1, the Lakers blew out a Miami squad that had, for at least some of the game, its key players. In Game 2, the Heat were down Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo. The results were predictable - another decisive win for the Lakers.
Up 2-0, the series is basically over, right? Is there anything the Heat can do to come back? How much would a romp through an injury-depleted Miami team deplete the appreciation for a Lakers championship?
How did this thing come together, anyway? Who deserves credit?
We talk all that and more with Vinny Bonsignore of the LV Review Journal. He covers the Raiders inn Vegas now, but spent decades in LA's sports media ecosystem.
On the Raiders, we talk Derek Carr and Jon Gruden, what it means for the Raiders to be a money making squad now (thank to the new stadium), how the NFL is dealing with COVID, and more.
Great stuff on two sports. BONUS!

  • October 1, 2020 - Mo Dakhil
Wow, it was a busy day! In basketball, too! Mo Dakhil joins to break it all down...
The Miami Heat got some bad news, as it appears both Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo could miss Game 2 of the NBA Finals with injuries. Do they have any shot to beat the Lakers without them? And if Miami loses Game 2, even if their guys return, could they beat the Lakers four times in five tries?
What about Doc Rivers to Philly? Can he make the Ben Simmons/Joel Embiid combo work again? What about the rest of the squad? What goes into making a great head coach, anyway?
And finally, Kyrie Irving spoke of the Brooklyn Nets and new coach Steve Nash in... strange terms. What does it say about the KD/Kyrie combo, and what Nash is walking into there?
Finally, does Mo, as a guy who once worked in the league, know how Quick Change does it?

  • September 30, 2020 - The Kamenetzky Brothers React to Game 1
On the one hand, it was a great night for the Lakers, who overcame a bad first five minutes and what became a 13-point deficit before totally steamrolling the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Anthony Davis was fantastic in his first Finals game, and LeBron James was huge as well, finishing one dime shy of a triple-double.
On the other, it was a bad night for basketball, because Miami saw all three of its stars get hurt. Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo took the worst of it, but Jimmy Butler rolled an ankle in pretty extreme fashion, too. If any of the three is limited/out - and Dragic has a plantar fascia tear - Miami's chances at the upset may just disappear.
Additionally, Andy and Brian break down Game 1, look at LeBron's legacy, ask who the team's best player is, talk about lineups, and more.

  • September 29, 2020 - Lana Berry
Major League Baseball's playoffs have arrived, as we quickly get to the end of whatever this Major League Baseball season should be called. The Dodgers are a number one seed... will it matter?
After all, the Marlins are in the playoffs! All bets are off!
Andy and Brian talk baseball with the incredibly entertaining Lana Berry, host of "The Lana Berry Show with Lana Berry" Podcast. What would it mean for LA if this was the year the Dodgers actually won it all? Would people really be satisfied?
From there, it's stories of Lana's youth in Sun Valley, Idaho, which meant rubbing elbows with famous people and raising sheep for the 4H Club. There is talk of dolls, and the NBA's best halftime shows.
Fair to say, we covered a lot of ground.
