  • 34- Two nurses from Washington state share how it feels to work during COVID19

Kirsten and Moriah are two nurses who work in hospitals in Washington state. This week, they are sharing with us their experiences during the COVID19 pandemic. This episode is dedicated to all the health care workers around the world showing up every day to care for patients, risking their own lives to help the rest of us get through the pandemic. We schmooze about many aspects of their jobs and the health care system. They explain the struggles of getting the personal protective equipment at the beginning of the crisis, how they have to protect themselves while at work and what ICU patients go through. We discuss the importance of wearing masks to minimize the spread of the virus and how frustrating it is that some people in our society are spreading misinformation about this very simple act of safety. We also discuss how much it costs to get care in the USA without insurance if a patient needs a respirator and how devastating it is for them to see patients die alone, quarantined from their families.  This episode is full of information and emotions. It's all very real and it is a direct window into the daily lives of health care workers nowadays; the Heroes of our world.

  • 33- Naturopathic medicine, a conversation with Dr. Megan Maycher

Nathuropathic medicine is based on applying a wholesome approach to health. This means that when you go see a naturopath, you will be analyzing the root cause of your symptoms and develop a plan to rebuild your body's health one step at a time. There won't be a quick fix solution or a magic pill to make everything disappear. You will have to make lifestyle changes and adopt new eating habits. But it will all be worth it! Naturopaths are here to remind us that our bodies know how to heal themselves, we just have to help them restore balance in all their organs and chemical and hormonal composition. In this episode, we invited Dr. Megan Maycher, a naturopath from Vancouver, BC to talk to us about her practice and share some tips on how to improve some of the common ailments in our current society such as weight control, fertility, menopause and mental health.

  • 32- Being a Trans Man; Kyle tells us his personal experience

Every trans person has their own transition story. In this episode, our guest Kyle, shares with us how he decided to transition into a male body and how this affected his life, his personality and his emotional health and well being.  Our current society is still plagued with violence against trans people, gender fluid persons, and anyone who does not abide by the traditionally accepted "man" or "woman".
Some of the topics we discuss in this episode:
-How did Kyle realize he wanted to be in a different body
-How did he come out to his family
-What are the legal struggles in changing your sex and gender
-How does this affect your romantic relationships
-How does being trans affect your career and job applications
-Does transitioning to being a trans man solve all the problems? Or is there more to deconstruct?
It's important to create safe spaces where we can openly discuss the realities experienced by many people who feel like they don't fit in the prescribed sex or gender assigned to them at birth. This is precisely what our podcast is about and we're proud to share this episode with you. Please share it with a friend and raise awareness on what trans people go through. Let's schmooze about this more often!

We're kicking off 2021 with a pleasant conversation that touches on the  season of winter, the power of mediums, and the energy of astrology.  Since most of us are still practicing social distancing and spending many hours in our homes, we go over a list of activities that can be fun to do indoors, either alone or with our core bubble. We also ponder on the meaning of winter in our yearly cycle. Have you ever noticed how things seem to go into an "automatic routine" type of rhythm in the first 3 months of the year during winter? How can we make the most of this energy? Well, let's see what the stars have to say about that! Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces are the zodiac signs that  represent this season and we explain how to tap into the energy of these signs to plan your activities alongside the universe's power. Remember that we lost a very important person a few months ago? Well, Salima tells us about her new curious interest into "mediumship" as she reads the books of a famous medium, Ms. Laura Lynne Jackson.
