Welcome back to another episode of The Lawcast! This time the Road to Wrestlemania begins as our hosts begin a season in which they'll cover the turbulent path to Wrestlemania as told through a series of critical nights of Dwayne Johnson's career.

We begin with Thursday Raw Thursday from February 13, 1997. This was a special episode of Raw that took place live on a Thursday night (Raw was preempted due to The Westminster Dog Show). We were supposed to be getting all three major WWF titles defended, but fate had other plans.

This is the infamous night that Shawn Michaels forfeited the WWF Title due to a knee injury and "losing his smile." We reevaluate Shawn's situation through a modern lense and feel very differently about it than we think most fans did back then. 

We also have Rocky Maivia getting his first ever title shot, as he faces Hunter Hearst Helmsley for the Intercontinental Title. 

Our hosts also discuss another big week in current wrestling: Vince McMahon being under a federal criminal investigation, The Rock/Cody/Roman Wrestlemania saga, and Rossy Ogawa and Scott D'Amore both being abruptly fired.
