  • How to Prevent Burnout with Kelly Swingler

This week we are continuing to explore the incredibly important and timely topic of Burnout with Kelly Swingler – a Burnout Recovery Strategist, and coach for leaders who are ready for a life beyond burnout.

In her words, she is a lifelong high-achieving, overperforming, recovering perfectionist who thrives under pressure, who knows a thing or two about stress and jeopardising your wellbeing, because she reached Burnout twice.

Since then, she’s spent the last nine years creating strategies and techniques to stop herself, and her clients, from burning out again. I’ll leave Kelly to share more of her personal burnout story, and more importantly, her road to recovery and a better way of living and leading, herself in just a moment or two.

  • Burnout Symptoms and Warning Signs

Today we have a slightly different episode – it’s totally unscripted and I’m joined by my amazing Community Manager, Susie Cery, as we experiment with expressing more vulnerability on the show. In this episode, I share my personal experience of burnout over the last 18 months.

I reflect on some of the (ignored) red flags in the run up, then the changes I have made that have given me the space to recover and build a more sustainable way of running the business. From protecting sleep, diet and exercise, we can break out of the stress cycle. With this, I hope to help you or someone you know who may be on a similar journey.

  • Adopting a 4-Day Work Week for Your Business with Simon Ursell

This week we have an incredibly timely episode as I’m interviewing the MD of one of the organisations in the UK’s 4-day working week trial that has just published its initial findings.

Simon Ursell is the Managing Director and founder of Tyler Grange, an environmental consultancy and B-corp, which he has led for 13 years, growing the company to become a market leader from start-up to nearly 100 people in 6 offices across the UK.

Simon’s focus on emotional fitness and environmental impact is helping founders and companies thrive, not just survive. Having led a business to achieve growth throughtwo recessions, he fundamentally believes that change is always good.

He believes in challenging the norm, being willing to do things differently and taking risks. Having interviewed him for this episode, it strikes me that it’s this combination of traits and beliefs that lead to Tyler Grange’s 4-day work week trial being so outstandingly successful.

In this episode you’ll hear me reference an incredible, lessons learned document that Simon’s team shared with me ahead of the show. I really encourage you to click on the link in the show notes and grab that document right now. It’s absolute gold dust!
