Chris Rivers, is a seasoned sports marketing professional with over two decades of experience. He guides professional athletes, mentors college students, and offers consulting in sports marketing. 

Chris's expertise spans team leadership, brand management, and social media strategy. Beyond his career, he's passionate about inspiring students about diverse sports careers. Actively involved in community service, he serves on the board of the Sports Boost Foundation and coaches youth football, lacrosse, and basketball teams, contributing to the development of aspiring athletes and sports industry professionals.

In this episode, Chris shares his backstory and journey from being a coach to now where he works as a sports marketing executive. He details some great stories of coaching Rene as well as mentions one of our previous guests Ray Young!

Episode 14 and the second off site episode is now available to stream! In this episode Chris and Rene sit down with the Owner and Executive Chef/Co Owner of Canon and Franquette, Clay Nutting and Brad Cecchi. 

In addition to co-owning Canon and Franquette, Clay was previously the co-owner of LowBrau in midtown. He also co-founded two multi-day music festivals, SEMF and TBD Fest, and was on the team that produced ArtHotel and ArtStreet. Currently, Clay serves in a leadership role on two prominent regional boards, Valley Vision and Metro Chamber.

Brad Cecchi is a graduate from the Culinary Arts program at American River College and Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park. Later he opened Mulvaney’s B&L with Patrick Mulvaney who was an inspiration and a mentor to Brad. Brad later moved on to become the Chef de Cuisine and later Executive Chef of the Solbar in the 88 room, luxury hotel resort, Solage Calistoga, Solbar was able to maintain its Michelin Star not once but twice in 2016 and 2017.

In this episode, Clay and Brad detail their backgrounds, how they got together to create Canon and most recently Franquette, and share what is on the horizon for them as entrepreneurs.

Kim is a renowned artist that creates some of the most incredible abstract art you can imagine. Kim’s artwork has been showcased and sold all over the world, and Chris personally has 3 of her pieces in his home including an original resin piece. Kim is also a very successful Realtor. She works with the House Team and is partners in the company with her good friend, Tim Collom.
 
 In this episode, Kim shares stories of how her art evolved from getting critiqued by a college professor to selling pieces worth tens of thousands of dollars as well as shares what makes her such a successful real estate agent.

Marcus Marquez, a charismatic figure whose passion for Napa Valley's food and wine scene has significantly shaped the region. From managing and curating award-winning wine lists to opening L Wine Lounge and Urban Kitchen, as well as heading up and helping to open one of St Helena’s best restaurant and bars, Goose & Gander, Marcus has been instrumental in transforming St. Helena's culinary landscape. As the driving force behind Brasswood Estate, he has turned it into a lifestyle destination boasting a world-class restaurant, winemaking facility, tasting rooms, bakery, boutique shop, art gallery as well as one of the premier venues to host weddings and private events.
