A testament to League's ambitious spirit, we'll chart his early life in Galveston, his educational pursuits in Baltimore and Europe, right through to his monumental contributions to the development of his hometown philanthropy. You can visit the mansion he commissioned Galveston's famous architect, Nicholas J. Clayton, to build for his family at 1710 Broadway, now known as the League-Kempner House.
