The legend of Lavoisier

May 8 marked the anniversary of the death of 18th century French chemist Antoine Lavoisier, whose work revolutionised the world of science. He is the one who named the elements Hydrogen and Oxygen. However, as RFI's Dhananjay Khadilkar reports, despite his accomplishments and reputation, his life ended abruptly after finding himself caught in the storm of a political revolution at home.
