The Letter to the Romans or Epistle to the Romans is a New Testament Greek language text written by Paul of Tarsus, the apostle to the Gentiles (Romans 11:13) and addressed to the Christians of Rome, whom he described as known "throughout the world" (Romans 1:8) for their great faith. The letter, the longest of those composed by Paul, is considered his most important theological legacy. Biblical scholars agree that it was composed to explain that salvation is offered through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
