How often do you hear yourself saying “I”? I want. I need. I wish. We have these “Lies of I’s” – lies we tell ourselves that culture tells us are a truth. My husband I were having a discussion the other day and I heard myself saying, “I deserve.” That’s a phrase I don’t even let my kids use, and here I was disagreeing with Corey saying, “I deserve better.” We seem to live in a world and society that is full of entitlement. We have the participation trophy generation that was always told they couldn’t lose and the social media natives that are constantly comparing people’s perfectly curated lives to their own.
