We want to get a clear answer concerning what makes us who we are. When we know who we are we can set our sights on our purposes more clearly and journey through life more intense and intentionally.
One of our existence's most difficult questions is its end. This question troubles us because most of us don’t believe we have access to anyone who has died to share with us what’s on the other side. There is a huge unknown concerning death and so we are curious to know. Faith in God gives us direct answers, but faith according to God takes new birth, so it’s not possible to even believe what has been said by God unless you have been born again and regenerated by the power of the Holy Spirit. So this is a wonderful question for our podcast because we are called the “Life answer pod” and this is one of the greatest questions of our lives.
Meeting that person who fits us perfectly is the romantic's dream. Finding the "ONE" is something that many of us hope for and desire. Of course all of us want someone who fits us like a glove, understands us, and cares for us in a way that shows they know us. This episode is also about the "ONE" God has called us to COMMIT to in this life. Genesis 2 states, "What God has joined together let no man put asunder".
There are moments when our hearts feel overwhelmed by choices that we must make. We have accepted responsibilities that challenge our sensibilities, mentality, and integrity. How we respond to these challenges matters, but they are not the end all be all most of the time. There are those situations and choices that can end our lives if we are not careful, but we are discussing on this episode how we deal with the difficult decisions in our lives and relieve the burdens in our hearts. With God being the driving force of our lives, we can overcome the heaviness of any situation. We must also be praying and trusting the sovereignty of God with our daily experience.
There is no general answer to this question, it is a difficult one to answer and we truly must look at each case by case basis. But what is apparent is that in all relationships we must value and exhibit self control. If you do not have self control, you will not be able to sustain or maintain healthy platonic friendships. This episode digs into the heart of is this wise in the context of our lives.
How do we rise above deep hurts in our marriages and forgive the one we love when they have wronged us?
When we forgive, we start the healing process inside of us and we honor God's word. Knowing your worth in God makes forgiveness easier, not because you don’t care deeply about how you’ve been wronged, but because you have “allowed” the Spirit to lead you from revenge to righteous response.
How do we consistently remain authentic in our expression of faith as we journey in life? We authenticate our faith in Jesus by choosing to respond and obey the Father, seeking solitude, committing to prayer and fasting, and resisting the devil's schemes. If you want to test yourself for authenticity quickly do these things immediately. You will notice it may be tough to focus and you may be drawn towards distractions, but press inward and deeper in God. When our relationship with God is healthy and consistent we sharpen our practice of righteousness and our inner peace is fortified. We must stay willing to be sharpened by the test and trials of life which come to build us up in authentic faith.
Have some integrity. Build your character.
Lying to ourselves is one of the worst offenses. If we cannot believe ourselves who can we believe. We must work to learn how to keep our word to ourselves so that we strive to do what we say we will do. This is a skill that must be practiced and strengthened. Some are better than others. Seeking to honor our words helps us to grow in setting realistic goals in hopes to keep those goals and move forward victoriously in our careers, families, faith, and friendships amongst other things. Even if we fail, we gain experience for the next attempt. Reference Episode one with Frederick Douglass running from slavery, failing but trying again. Also, honoring your word to your manager, other employees, customers, builds a reputation that could lead to new opportunities.
