Our guest for this episode is Qurrat Ul Ain (Annie), a postdoctoral fellow researching in situ gene therapy for monogenic skin diseases in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada. Annie got her bachelor's degree majoring in Biochemistry, Physiology and Chemistry at the University of Punjab, in Lahore, Pakistan, where she also obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. She did her PhD thesis at Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea. In addition to being an amazing scientist, Annie is also a proud mother of a little girl, a passionate mentor, and a voice for women in STEM.

In this episode, our guest is Jorge Borbinha, a 4th year PhD student working at the Tissue Morphogenesis and Repair Lab in CEDOC, in Lisbon, Portugal. Jorge got his bachelor's degree in Biology and his masters in Evolutionary and Developmental Biology, both from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. He is also a science communicator and has published a short sci-fi story!

In this episode, we talk with Madalena Marques about her experience as a lab technician. Madalena performed her master thesis on hematopoiesis at the Centre for Cardiovascular Science at the Centre for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Edinburgh, UK. She then continued working on the same topic as a lab technician and has recently returned to Portugal in the hopes of pursuing a PhD.

In this episode, we talk with Mariana Amaral about her experience as a Master's student. Mariana recently concluded her Master's degree in Biomedical Research, from the NOVA Medical School in Lisbon, specializing in Oncology, with a thesis on nanomedicine for cancer care and is now hoping to pursue a Ph.D. in the same area.
