I know it sounds cliché but the notion of a personal vision, in my estimation, is one of the greatest key words in personal development.
We need to clarify what our vision is at the individual level. I'm sure we have no problem doing so at the corporate or organizational level whatsoever.
It is sad though to find a head of a department in a multinational not having their own vision quantified. We need that done. Listen to this.
There are perhaps two major reasons why people would not want to discover their purpose ON THEIR OWN. First, they are not so confident that they can do that. They would rather an external entity helped them, such as a spiritual man, a coach and so on.
Second, they are afraid that they might "discover a miss". In other words, they might spend their life doing that which they thought was their purpose and yet it wasn't.
The fact is that alone, one can put two and two together and discover what their purpose is. It is possible to use about six avenues that I have put together to do so. One can get comfort when there is greater clarity as one resources complements another. Listen to this.
Familiarity breeds lots of contempt. What you have you take for granted until you don't have it. What you don't have you treat it as treasure until you have it.
In talking about purpose, this analogy can work pretty well. One of the ways you can fail to know your purpose is through familiarity. You are so adept at something that you don't treasure it. It is within you or around you so you don't take note of it...but someone else does. Listen to this.
If you are interested and committed in identifying your life purpose, there are quite a number of ways you can do that. In the previous episodes, I have talked about questions, gifts and talents, ideas and action.
Did you know though, that if you noticed your emotions, you can discern from them what your purpose in life could be at least to some degree? That's right. Emotions are a critical way in which you can discover your purpose.
There are two major emotions that you need to look out for. Listen to this.
Perhaps one of the greatest mistakes I ever made with purpose pursuit was to stop everything I was doing and wait until my purpose was revealed before I could start living.
I know I was being zealous and radical at the same time. Was my purpose revealed to me through that mode? Nope. It wasn't. Does it get revealed to other people in that mode? Not all the time.
So I noticed one clear path to take when you want to discover what your purpose is. Take action and stay alert. Listen to this.
