The first thing about stewardship is "servanthood". H. E The President of Uganda at one point in time was quoted and the clip spread throughout the internet. He said, "I am not your servant!"
We are discussing the aspect of healing the identity of the jobless person. I have posited that the solution is found in choosing to call yourself a "steward" rather than accepting to be called "Jobless".
A steward is a servant...and that is not derogatory in anyway. In fact, the heart of the human is service. Let us explore how important the servant steward is in healing the identity of the jobless.
What if I told you that a simple change in your identity can see you through a "jobless" situation better? What if I told you that accepting the title of "Jobless" is defeatist and dis-empowering?
The reality is there on the ground for all to see. Life is about a journey. In that journey, there is a danger in camping permanently at a place because of a wrong identity. Instead of "jobless" can the label,"Steward" help you in any way?
I believe it can. Listen to this.
At the end of the day, what is the function of the human? Really? If we do not have an answer to this question, the quality of life that we live will be affected.
In this #NewSeries, we introduce the topic of Stewardship vs Joblessness. Th identity that we impute upon our lives will determine the activities that we shall do and our outlook in life in general.
If there was one thing that can obliterate "joblessness" at least at the identity point of view, it is simply this: Stewardship. Listen to this.
Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. What we miss to find is the treasure. For instance, if you knew that the child in your house will for sure be the UN secretary general, or a Nobel laureate how would you raise them?
The fact is that every baby is a messenger of God, an ambassador on a mission sent by God himself. If we had that revelation, the way we will raise these children will change drastically.
However, each waking day, we are oblivious of this. And that's why at times we are not intentional in how they grow up. We steep ourselves into an autopilot mode totally distracted by the news of the day.
Here are five things we need to do with the revelation that the children in our homes are a treasure. Listen to this.
Realizing that our children are one of the greatest weapons in the hands of God, it changes the way we approach their growth radically. If we keep looking at them as ordinary, we get oblivious of them.
But if we have this revelation that they are weapons in God's hands and that we are stewards, the way we bring them up changes totally.
The truth is that every child is a treasure and is sent here on a mission to do something specific. How we raise them up should be commensurate to that mission or purpose. Listen to this.
