Jesus spoke about the Kingdom of God more than anything. Why is this important? At this moment in time we are surrounded by many different cultures - not just cultures of race but of sport, music and more!

Jesus said to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. This can put is in opposition to other prevailing cultures. The Kingdom culture must transcend whatever other culture you belong to.

Jesus taught that the Kingdom of God is within us, has come, is here now and is also coming. There is a fullness of the Kingdom that is on the way. It is eternal and not temporal - a Kingdom that cannot be shaken.

The Kingdom is greater than this world. Every past, present and future kingdom will bow before the Kingdom of God. Jesus went to the cross knowing he was the King of the eternal kingdom and we would become citizens and ambassadors of it.

Pastor Paul Hallam brings this introduction to the Kingdom of God as he begins to outline some of the characteristics of the Kingdom and why it is important you belong to it!

We are joined by Warren Evans, CEO of Sports Chaplaincy UK. Warren shared some of the work of Sports Chaplaincy using the acronym SPORT. 

See - If we look at a community no different than anyone else are we any different than those that don’t believe? Can we see through the eyes of compassion?

Pray - How do we pray with intentionality? Don’t just pray for a win but pray for those around you and look for opportunities. is underused tool in our kitbag. 

Relationship - Programs and processes should only ever be tools to build relationship with others. You are part of and planted into communities for a reason - to sign post people to God.

Transformation - Sport impacts communities so by entering into sporting communities we can then transform communities. How are you influencing people?

Obedience - This is the most crucial aspect. God tells us to go and make disciples. We need to go and turn our rhetoric into reality!

Pentecost has nothing to do with a denomination or brand of Christianity. There may be churches that call themselves Pentecostal but this doesn’t refer to a place or a denomination. It refers to an experience!

What happened on the Day of Pentecost was so powerful we are still feeling the impact of this event today! Without it there would be a powerless ineffectual church.

What happened on that day was completely unique. A shift happened. The Holy Spirit went from from being with us to being in us (John 14:15-18). The Holy Spirit was active at creation and throughout the Old Testament - he moved upon or came upon people BUT he didn’t indwell or infill in them. This changed from the Day of Pentecost.

Pastor Paul Hallam explores how that shift and the experience of Pentecost gives us power - power to witness, power to overcome and power to believe!
