Value Fulfillment. As a coach, I love this one and find it really beautiful. It’s a sense that you have access to all that you need and want. It’s a personal fulfillment of your inner desires which is separate perhaps from what your family, society, culture or other organizational obligations might indicate. There’s a beautiful congruence of the person you believe yourself to be on the inside and the way you present yourself to the world on the outside. The world could collapse around you and you’d float around singing I got this because you are in harmony. Want answers? Send your questions, comments and thoughts about life to [email protected]
Value Fame. Before you get all harsh and judgy, I was thinking about it and I’m not sure there’s too much of a difference between fame, influence and impact. To some degree, marketing and PR exist to increase and leverage our fame. If you’re a thought leader and esteemed in your field, that means you’re famous for what you do and are good at. Just make sure that once you get there, you remember what you wanted to do with your fame in the first place. Obviously as a do-gooder I want you to use your fame for the good of humanity. I encourage you to embrace this notion of the limelight. The world needs more good ones in it. Want answers? Send your questions, comments and thoughts about life to [email protected]
Value Excitement. Do you know someone like this? The glass is not just half full, it is completely full All Of The Time! In my opinion genuine excitement is the successful integration of alignment and engagement. Another way to think about excitement is the act of exciting. The state of being roused into action or having increased action. I follow this guy on social media whose name is Gary Vaynerchuk. I’m not even exactly sure what he does but I know that he is definitely a champion for content creation. In a visual platform flooded by images like Instagram, I actually will play his videos even though they have captions just to hear how he talks. His excitement is infectious and rouses me to action. What excites you, what do you talk about that makes you light up and increases action in yourself or others? Want answers? Send your questions, comments and thoughts about life to [email protected]
Excellence. Consider this the confident pursuit of highest quality when you believe in what you are doing and that it's value warrants your persistent commitment. Sometimes this can become an idealogical debate that excellence is tangible; therefore an ideal, perhaps never achievable. How about the notion of holding excellence? It's not an outcome of what you do but how you do it. A moment to moment endeavor. What’s an example in your life of a final product that you're holding to the value of excellence versus the practice of it. What if you could see the striving as excellence? Want answers? Education. Do you believe that education is a fundamental human right essential for the exercise of all other human rights? It is a powerful tool by which marginalized adults and children can lift themselves out of poverty and participate fully as citizens. What does education mean in a first world country where school is compulsory? Where broader learning goes beyond that and provides a deeper understanding of the world around us. If education is self-empowerment, what do you need to learn now? What about an education that fosters expressiveness, energy, humor, imagination, the unconventional, the ability to see things from a different angle? Want answers?
