"Lisa, what stops people making money online?"

Most people ask: how do you sell in a webinar, where do I build my sales page, how do I stay motivated. Hello future video titles!

But today I want to take matters into my own hands and tell you the four things I probably feedback on most often to paying clients at all levels.

I think as we open this conversation, you'll see common mistakes you're making in your online business, and you'll see wonderful and unique ways to grow your business online, in a way that feels aligned, and, dare I say...easy?

Being in business can be hard. There is a lot to learn, like how to put a commercially viable offer together, how to close a one-to-one sale, how to build a working funnel.

But it can also be easy. IF you follow the inspiration that comes up, IF you follow your heart and build something that feels good to you, IF you do the work and show up today, for an easier tomorrow.

Let's talk about all of this.

I've been reflecting on the online programmes I run, asking myself: What mistakes do I see over and over? What stops people from growing and scaling their online businesses?

There seems to be four things I pick up on and talk about on repeat. In today's episode, I'd like to run through them and highlight ways for you to grow your online business in 2022, avoiding these four common mistakes.

A lot of people want something different to what they're already experiencing in life - more happiness, more peace, less stress, more money, more freedom.

They WANT it, but their dominant thought is actually in opposition to the thing they want.

Desire: I want more money. Dominant thought: No-one will buy from me, I'm a nobody. I haven't got time to finish my offer. Social media is too crowded now!

Desire: I want to be fit. Dominant thought: Urgh I've tried everything, nothing works. I'm too busy and too tired to workout anyway. I'm going to treat myself to something naughty tonight!

Desire: I want to be in love. Dominant thought: I'm such a loser. Who could love me. Love like what I see in the movies isn't even real anyway! Maybe I should just settle and be done with it?

You might know this already but today I want to impress on you the sheer importance of adopting this new way of thinking in your day to day life.

Everyone wakes up with fear, doubt, concerns. It's human nature. The second you open your eyes, you're faced with a choice: Listen to those thoughts and act from that place; or, change your thoughts, and therefore your focus, and act from that place!

It sounds surprising but this can take months and sometimes years to master.

So, we don't have a second longer to delay.

Listen: Growth doesn't feel orderly and structured and safe. It feels messy and uncertain and chaotic! But it also feels exciting and energised and electric! To change your life or grow your business you want to get into that energy of pace, or movement, of...well - chaos!

Chaos feels like posting a Reel after a networking event before heading to a meeting and returning to send out quotes or reply to messages.

Chaos feels like files you want to transfer to your MacBook for a video you're making and files you want to transfer to your phone for a promo you're running.

I'm a big fan of balance. I can take a day off and have a full on family weekend with the best of them. But to hit my goals in life and business I know that there is one thing needed in abundance and that's movement, energy, pace...and that can often feel like chaos! Buttttt, the good chaos.

Oh my days - yes we all know by now I am obsessed with funnels.

Two things I say over and over to my clients are: (1) Finish your offer and make sure it's ready to buy; and (2) Build a funnel to get it in front of your ideal client while you're busy delivering!

The person who can do this first, then best wins.

That's the game... Create something people want, that genuinely helps move them forward and price accordingly. And give lots of people who might be interested in that offer a FANTASTIC way to sample it and make an informed decision.

Honestly? That's the business of online marketing.

When entrepreneurs get stuck in business if it often because they are breaking this particular order of events or more likely, because they're trying to do them all at once!

I don't believe in an 'all at once' approach to business growth. I believe in a layering approach. I mean: It's best to finish your offer and have it ready to go before obsessing about regular posts on social media. Trying to master both at the same time takes longer, can feel really overwhelming and the risk is the offer is never finished!
