Dr Faustus the world's greatest scholar believes that he has nothing to learn from other people and little even from devil to him he has sold his soul.Pride in his own knowledge prevents him from evaluating the world around him in a meaningful manner.His pride motivates him only to seek admiration from others but never to really deserve it from them or from himself.

Christian is the principal figure in the Pilgrim's Progress .He is symbolic of the ultimate aim of human hearts to attain eternal peace.

Lear carried a dead body of Cordelia in his arms, cursed all and the death came to him .
