Tonight, we’ve got The High 48s a dynamic group made up of Clint Birtzer, Rich Casey, Eric Christopher, Anthony Ihrig, and David Robinson.   • Boats & Bluegrass '24: Danny Frank and the Smoky Gold

    Boats aaaaand… that’s right it’s that time of year again. Spring is upon us. The days are getting longer but a few months ago, the good time jam and extravaganza that is Boats and Bluegrass rolled through town once again. What’s that? You missed it? Ahh… that don’t matter none. KQAL was there to record those sweet sounds for you, so you can enjoy live performances from this year‘s festival all year long. Tonight we’ve got Danny Frank and The Smokey Gold a rocking band comprised of Lead Singer Danny Frank, banjo player Harrison Olk, bassist Joe Scarpellino, and fiddle savant Erin Aldridge. When this group comes together their powers activate in the form of some killer, fiddle and banjo numbers and with some amazing harmonies to boot.   • Boats & Bluegrass '24: Slapdash Bluegrass

    Boats annnnd!... That’s right! Winona’s annual Boats and Bluegrass festival has rolled through town once again! spreading its sweet bluegrass tunes to anyone who got a chance to listen. But don't worry if you didnt make it, because we did! And KQAL made sure to record it for you. So dont be blue becuse were going to be playinh these magic sounds all season long. 

    Tonight we have Slapdash Bluegrass. This bluegrass band hails from three different states but bases themselves in Decorah Iowa. Their sound is that classic old time bluegrass feel with the twang of the banjo, bouncing bass, rambling guitar, and playful mandolin mixed in with an energizing fiddle and some slaptastic vocals, that'll have you singing along in no time. 

    And, with a name that rhymes you know your in for a good time!
