Bible Study “In Christ” (Eph 1:1-3)
Where do you place yourself today? I am not really asking you where you are physically at the moment. The question “where are you”, is much bigger than geographical location, financial status, or even you mental or emotional state of mind. Paul was when he wrote this letter when he was in prison. We see how he talks about the recipients he says to Gods Holy people in Ephesus the faithful in Christ Jesus. So, after identifying himself and having identified the recipients he then sends his greeting. “Grace to you and peace from God our father and our Lord Jesus Christ.”(Eph 1:2). The key to the Christian life is learning to live by grace continually. As a believer in Jesus you able to come before God and claim grace. So, Paul says I wish to you grace but he also says I wish for you peace. There is something beyond the kind of peace we can experience after that life changing experience.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
(Phil 4: 6-7)
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
(Eph 1:3)
“In Christ”, is one of the most important terms in all of the New Testament. The basic idea is that we have now been inseparably united to Christ So, when I asked, “where are you”? I'll tell you that if you've trusted in Jesus, you are in Christ, right now. Ephesians will teach us that God raised believers and seated them in heavenly places, in Christ. What a mind-blowing idea that is This is why I believe throughout the New Testament it talks about our citizenship being in heaven. If you in Christ, then you’ll realize you don’t have to live life controlled by your current situation . For in Christ and you are seated in the heavenlies. So, remember where you are. You are in Christ keep looking to him and please don’t waste any time living, under the circumstances.
