In this letter, John has harsh words about a prominent man in the early church who exhibited dangerous behaviors that can undermine and break down the church. He will encourage you to agree in the Lord on disputable, non-essential matters, submit even if you don’t agree, and trust the God-ordained leadership in place for you.

Paul’s greatest joy was to hear that his children were walking in the truth and in faithfulness. They were welcoming brothers, teaching the truth of the gospel and showing hospitality in a manner worthy of God. Today Pastor Danny is teaching on this unity among these believers and will encourage you to remain in unified friendship with other believers. It is better to have peace, love and harmony than strife, discord and pride. It is good and refreshing for a body of believers to remain united in belief.

The Bible is full of stories of men and women risking boldly in order to stand for truth and love no matter what the cost. They faced stubborn and obstinate people. It is not loving to hide, ignore or lighten the truth of the gospel in order to make people happy. God’s love will never be real to them if they never recognize His truth revealed in scripture. However, as Pastor Danny points out today, standing up for the truth in a loving and honest way requires a great amount of courage. It is risky and will have a cost to it.
