There are mysteries in the bible that many in the church dispute to the detriment of the unity of the church. These are called disputable matters – those matters that will not change your salvation and may never be made clear of this side of Heaven. However, as Pastor Danny explains today, there are essential truths laid out in scripture that are very clear. God’s sovereignty and the way of salvation are matters where the bible is clear. These truths are crucial to defend, clarify and share with others.

The early church had to stand against much falsehood as it began to grow and spread. So John wrote his letter in order to remind believers to stand against these lies by speaking truth. He implored them to speak it with love. Today Pastor Danny will speak of the importance of needing both truth and love in order to truly show the love of God. God’s truth will be a burden if you cannot explain it with a loving heart. And without truth, love simply has nothing to support it. It’s empty and useless.

Pastor Danny will explain how idols often sprout and grow subtly in your life and eventually become something you serve and worship ahead of God. You must make a choice! You cannot serve the Lord until you get rid of the idols in your life. What you worship you will imitate and what you imitate you will become.

The world will try its best to cause innumerable idols to rise in importance in your life if you’re not careful. God’s word commands you to not be conformed to the idolatry of the world. Pastor Danny reminds you today that God created you to worship. You will worship something, maybe even many things. But God was specific with this aspect of your design. He wants you to worship only Him. Don’t let the important or enjoyable things in life replace God as the priority in your life.

As you seek to grow in relationship to the Lord through prayer, it’s important to examine yourself – look for sin in your life that is hindering your relationship with God. Today, Pastor Danny will explain how you can’t have a powerful prayer life, an intimate relationship with Jesus or a transformed mind and heart if you remain in sin. You must let God reveal your sin to you and help you deal with the sin in your life. He is the God of transformation and deeply desires you to repent and turn to Him for restoration.
