Pastor Danny is going to bring us back to the garden of Eden today. Adam and Eve have eaten the fruit and now in hiding. God comes into the garden and asks them what they did, now God knew but he wanted more than knowledge. He wanted to be in a relationship with the people He created, and it's still like that today. Don't think that you've hidden your sin from God, He knows but what He wants more than anything is for you to come to Him with your failures and accept the forgiveness that He is offering.
Our God is able to save. Pastor Danny is taking a good look at 2 Peter chapter 3 today. The hope that we have is in God and His power to save. He’ll bring a new heaven and a new earth and we’ll not ever be in fear because there will be no more war or violence. There will be no more suffering, sickness, or pain. God will live amongst us, the way He has always intended it to be. Come along with us today and discover everything that God has in store for you! It’s even better than you can imagine!
Today Pastor Danny is working his way through 2 Peter where the quality of false messengers is made pretty clear.
The first fruit of the spirit is love. There are 8 others that you’ll find listed in Galatians, but the first one spreads its umbrella over the others. If you get love right then the others inevitably follow. As Pastor Danny will explain in today’s message, loving isn’t something that comes quickly or easily. It takes time and maturity for that trait to develop, but if you open yourself up to the work of the spirit and humbly submitting to Him then your love will be the most physical signs of your love for Him.
God loves you even with all of the Leven in your life. He doesn’t ask you to remove sin because he wants you to be bored or to miss out on pleasure, quite the opposite. He offers you an abundant joy filled life and He knows that those sins rob you of that life. In today’s message as Pastor Danny begins our study of the book of 2 Peter, he challenges us to take detailed inventory of our spiritual house and actively remove anything that detracts from our relationship with our Father.
If God calls you on to a mission, don’t insult Him by resisting with silly excuses. As Pastor Danny will point out in today’s message, Moses did exactly that. This man experienced in a way that very few ever have. God spoke right to him and worked miracles in his life and yet when God set a task before him he trembled in fear, afraid of his own failure. When God calls you to do something he equips and enables you for it, so trust in Him, not in your own understanding or strengths.
God does not take our pride lightly. He sees our hearts and has witnessed every thought and action we’ve participated in. In today’s message, as Pastor Danny continues our study in 1 Peter he’ll remind us of the importance of humility as we approach our powerful and loving father. His grace is immense and He went to extreme lengths to demonstrate that for us, but He is also just. And if you abuse His grace, especially by taking advantage of others, you can expect the consequences to be pretty harsh.
Christians are just as susceptible to sin as anybody else. Because we know the law and are in a relationship with God we will probably be even under more attack at the hands of the enemy. But temptations will come in stronger and they will be harder to resist. it can be done but the fact is that you’re not always going to make the right choice. in today’s message, Pastor Danny will encourage us to approach this life with humility and wisdom. You need to know your weaknesses and not be afraid to ask for help.
Pain and suffering are a part of the Christian journey. If you haven’t experienced them in some form, you might need to question if you are actually following Jesus. He doesn’t take pleasure in your pain but He does know that you grow from it. When your faith is tested, that is when it becomes deeper and stronger. As Pastor Danny will encourage us in today’s message, as counterintuitive as it is, finds moments of joy in your suffering. Thank God for the chance to live out your faith in a real way!
