In a world increasingly dominated by technology, noise, and the pressure to constantly hear from God, what if we need less spiritual striving and more trust in the gospel? In this episode, we explore Philip Cary’s Good News for Anxious Christians and ten countercultural truths that challenge the way we think about God’s guidance, spiritual growth, and faith. Cary reminds us that we don’t have to decode God’s secret plan, trust every inner impulse, or constantly chase transformative experiences. Instead, we can rest in what God has already revealed through Scripture and the finished work of Christ. Because anxiety has a way of turning the gospel into law, this conversation invites us to step away from the machines, quiet the noise, and rediscover the freedom of ordinary faithfulness. Good News for Anxious Christians: 10 Practical Things You Don't Have to Do

Ep. 188 - A Life Shaped by Scripture ft. Sue Hasper, Erin Graham, Hannah VanderVelde, Libby VanSolkema

In Romans 1–2, Paul strips away every excuse, moving from the pagan world to the moral person and finally to the religious insider. The problem isn’t simply what we do—it’s what’s happening in our hearts. Our hearts can be darkened, stubborn, and unrepentant, but Paul ultimately points us to the heart we desperately need: one changed by the Spirit. Before we can understand how good the gospel is, we have to understand just how bad our news really is.
