We're talking sequels this week on The Longlist. And for the most part, we focused on true sequels to the original movie. Not part threes or later, and not movies that were planned for a franchise from the very beginning. We didn't totally adhere to these rules, but tried our best to keep that spirit in mind. 

There are lots of good and bad sequels out there, join us to see if some of your favorites made it.

Join us on a more personal journey as Josh and Jack share the movies they saw in the theaters together. There were some debates. There were some laughs. There were some lists. And it was a lot of fun.

We, here at The Longlist, believe that the in theater experience is the best way to watch a movie. Seeing a great film with an engaged crowd is unlike anything else in entertainment.

Michael Bay's 1996 action hit, The Rock, just turned 30, making Josh and Jack feel pretty old. But it's a movie we love, here at The Longlist, and allows for a lot of fun lists. We also give our first reaction to Disclosure Day and have a couple surprises. Enjoy!

Another Wild Card episode for your listening pleasure. Josh and Jack each came up with 10 lists, unknown to their counterpart, and the only rule was that it had to involve movies in some way. It's time. Josh and Jack dive deep on one of the most significant American directors of all time. Steven Spielberg has made some of our all time favorite movies and has done so for generations. He's still as prolific as ever and has a new movie coming out on June 12th, Disclosure Day. We thought it was as good a time as any to celebrate one of our favorite directors and a true titan in the industry.

On this episode, Jack and Josh try a new format, pitting two movies against each other analytically. While Tenet and Babylon might differ in tone, themes, even in genre, their reception seems similarly polarizing. We're doing our best to find out why, today, and to see if we can walk away naming one the better movie.

All of our selections left the pop culture mainstream pretty quickly and we here at The Longlist will attempt to find out why. We're here to get to the bottom of it. The oft mentioned first installment of Longlist Jeopardy is finally here. Josh and Jack faced off to see who would be the victor in this epic battle. And they had some skin in the game as well: Whoever prevails will receive a "one for me" episode in the near future and have full creative control over its content.

This one's all about the forgotten nautical masterpiece from the early 2000s. Jack and Josh muse about what could have been with this franchise that never was, discuss the fascinating career of Russell Crowe, and  debate fictional captains.
