    their own vocabulary. The disease assigns it. If you have a tumor in
    your bone, you learn to talk about scans and margins and what the
    pathologist found when they cut it out. If you have a cancer in your
    blood, you learn to talk about a number, because the number is the
    disease, and somebody draws it out of your arm every few weeks until you
    know it by heart.It's a tell, and it's almost impossible to fake,
    because nobody would think to try.
    Natalie Harp has spent seven years saying she had bone cancer. Natalie
    Harp's own words describe a blood disorder, not bone cancer. But still,
    she has said it on Fox News, at the Republican National Convention, and
    to the President of the United States. Twice now, in public, she has
    talked like someone with the other kind. And as you'd expect, Natalie
    Harp's cancer story got worse every time she told it. As it goes with
    unwell, unstable people vying for the attention of another mentally
    unstable person, Natalie Harp told four versions of the same illness.

    Natalie Harp built a national profile on one story, and for six years
    almost nobody checked it. That ended this month. New reporting and a
    deep look at public records tied to her family have surfaced material
    that does not sit easily next to the version the country heard from the
    convention stage in 2020, and the strangest part is who the questions
    are coming from. Her own estranged brother is the one talking,
    describing an upbringing, a long history of letters to presidents, and a
    family account that is nothing like what viewers were shown. He is a
    single voice and what he says is contested, but he is also the only Harp
    saying anything at all, which raises an obvious question about everyone
    who has chosen to stay quiet. Then there are the records, and this is
    the part almost no one has touched. Domain registrations connected to
    the family stretch back two decades, and the pattern of what was
    renewed, what was allowed to vanish, and when contact information
    quietly changed hands lines up with the biggest moments in Natalie's
    life in a way that is very hard to call coincidence. One of those
    changes happened within weeks of a death in the family. And then there
    is the date that made me stop and check it three times.

    Natalie Harp has told the country for seven years that she would be dead
    if Trump hadn't signed the Right to Try Act on May 30, 2018, and the
    Washington Post found her tweeting about the treatment she was already
    taking that March. That is the tidiest problem in a very deep pile. Her
    origin story has appeared in at least three incompatible versions that
    were live at the same time and never corrected, the hospital error that
    supposedly started all of it has left no paperwork anywhere in almost
    eleven years, no complaint and no lawsuit and no fundraiser, and in
    seven years of telling it she has never named the hospital, the
    oncologist, the drug, or a single one of the trials she says turned her
    down. Snopes tried to fact-check this in August and had to give up,
    landing on neither true nor false because there is almost nothing on the
    record to rate it against. The story is the entire reason she holds one
    of the closest jobs to the president in the country, a role with no
    confirmation hearing and no vetting beyond his personal preference, and
    she has been promoted twice since.

    while doing it. The response wasn't debate. It was a coordinated
    campaign to destroy her, with Ben Shapiro calling her a grifter, TPUSA's
    Andrew Kolvet pumping an NCRI report that painted her as inciting
    violence against Kirk's widow, and DataRepublican dropping thread after
    thread branding her a digital assassin, timed to Tyler Robinson's
    preliminary hearing. Everyone treated DataRepublican as the neutral data
    person who was just following the evidence. She was working for the
    Pentagon the whole time and never said a word. So the woman asking who
    killed her friend got smeared as a menace to a grieving widow by a
    federal employee, amplified by an organization that had already
    announced a partnership with the State Department. Owens said the
    machine was against her, and the machine turned out to be on the
    government payroll.

    Erika Kirk’s past is suddenly getting a lot more attention after a man
    claiming to be one of her longtime friends came forward with some
    stories that are already spreading across the internet.
    According to him, he knew Erika years before Charlie Kirk, back when
    they were attending the same acting and modeling school in Colorado.
    What he says happened during that time includes reality TV, a bizarre
    conversation about getting married for the cameras and divorcing
    afterward, weed and edibles, famous athletes, and a dating history he
    says makes her eventual relationship with Charlie look very different in
    hindsight.

    One for the China trip, and the White House has a very tidy explanation
    for that. What the White House does not have a tidy explanation for is
    who ended up in the seat next to the President at a state banquet in
    Beijing, why the Secret Service formally flagged this same woman as a
    security risk and got dismissed, why she has been found in private
    family-only quarters at Mar-a-Lago after midnight, or why a sitting
    president’s inner circle started referring to her by the name of a
    character from Fatal Attraction. There is a paper trail on this one. It
    goes back years. And the official story, that she just prints his
    “thoughts”, stops making sense about thirty seconds into looking at any
    of it.
