As a parent, I am CRAVING more books that normalize polyamory through vocabulary and story that kids can easily understand. That's why I was SO excited to interview Mariana about the book she's written "A Color Named Love". She is non-monogamous herself, and when thinking about having kids she noticed a lack of children's books normalizing love in ALL of it's forms. One of the misconceptions about polyamory is that the relationship is always open. There are times and places for a "closed' relationship, where the partners can establish a sense of safety in the relationship. That is what Kyle and Megan explore in this episode, after they nearly let their fear get the best of them. Instead, they decided to ask for what they need while they are apart - a focus on each other (and their other partner).  The best thing about polyamory is that you can create the agreement of the relationship(s) based on what you need in the moment...and it is always open to shift again!

We all face fears when in relationships, especially as those relationships deepen. In this episode, Marty speaks from a vulnerable place, as he faces his fears of losing his partner in South America. He realizes that he can create the exact thing that he is afraid of, if he acts from a place of fear. But, he is not sure how to get himself to a place of safety. This podcast was real-time processing as Megan asked Marty questions while he was "in his wound" and triggered around an event that happened with his parnter...and his insights bleed into even the nature of our reality...is it subjective or objective?
