LUKE 2:8-21 - The Shepherds Visit Jesus - 2BeLikeChrist

An angel appeared to some shepherds who were keeping watch over their sheep and told them the Christ had been born in Bethlehem. Following the angel‘s instructions, they found Joseph and Mary and told them how they had seen a heavenly host praising God because of Jesus‘ birth.

LUKE 2:4-7 - The Birth of Jesus

Joseph and Mary travel from Nazareth to Bethlehem to comply with the Roman tax registration. While in Bethlehem, Mary‘s son is born, wrapped in swaddling clothes, and placed in a manger.

LUKE 2:1-3 - Quirinius and the Tax Registration

Just before Jesus‘ birth, Caesar Augustus commanded his subjects to be registered for tax purposes. This required Joseph and Mary to travel to Bethlehem. After being told by the angel Gabriel that she would miraculously bear a son, Mary traveled south to the hill country of Judah to visit her cousin Elizabeth.

LUKE 1:26-38 - Gabriel and the Virgin Mary

Six months after Elizabeth conceived, the angel Gabriel appeared to a young woman named Mary. He told her she would miraculously conceive a son, and he would be the Messiah, the Son of the Most High.

LUKE 1:18-25 - Zachariah Speaks to Gabriel

While Zachariah was working in the Temple in Jerusalem, the angel Gabriel appeared to him and told him he would have a son. Because of his age, Zachariah doubted the angel, but not long after he returned home, his wife conceived the promised child.
