Thanks for tuning into another episode of Luxic Vue Mindset. This week I had the opportunity to sit down with Marc De La Cruz, Co-Owner of Vitruvian Martial Arts located in Visalia, Ca. Vitruvian is a Martial Arts school offering a phenomenal program for Jiu Jitsu, May Thai & Self-Defense. Marc is a 2nd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Dan Camarillo, a competitor in the sport and a military veteran. He breaks down his story growing up, how he found his passion for martial arts, his military experiences & how he eventually received an opportunity to create a program of his own. He gives insight on how he has managed to use his training in real life scenarios easy on as a bouncer as well what ultimately inspired him to put his training to the test professionally inside a cage. Still till this day Marc continues to compete in Jiu Jitsu tournaments all over the valley as they arise, sometimes even in as little as a few days notice which means he must always remain ready. His journey is inspiring and his character is admirable as it has taken him 20 years of dedication to obtain his 2nd degree black belt and still till this day, he has never stopped training as he goes on to share. I was reluctant to meet Marc 6 months ago as I stepped into his gym out of my own interest in joining Jiu Jitsu. Since then Marc and other great coaches have aided me on my own journey as well as other students who are more like family due to the culture he has created over the last decade. If you have ever been interested in joining or are even remotely curious in training Jiu Jitsu or May Thai, I would highly suggest you not only listen to this interview but also stop by Vitruvian if you're near Visalia. You will not be disappointed!
