The Mac Observer Show

Earlier this week, JP Morgan’s Samik Chatterjee said that 5G was one of the biggest drivers for iPhone upgrades this season. That started Ken on a slew of questions he hoped RCR Wireless News Editor Peter Cohen (@petercohenrcr) might be able to answer. Predictably, it led to more questions.

TMO Managing Editor Jeff Butts joins Ken to talk about the sudden wait for iPhone 14 Plus orders. Also – discussing Apple’s release plans for the Antoine Fuqua/Will Smith film “Emancipation.”

In the wake of a tragic accident in Nebraska detected by Crash Detection, host Ken Ray and TMO Managing Editor Jeff Butts talk over testing Apple’s safety feature. Plus – Tim Cook is driving Ken insane with his tests of augmented reality and virtual reality.

TMO Managing Editor Jeff Butts wraps the week with us, talking ugly repercussions from a BofA downgrade, a crass comment from a (now former) Apple exec, and – as a palate cleanser – television.

Two guests on today’s show. First, financial analyst Rob Black joins Ken to discuss Bloomberg’s midweek article that has Apple reducing iPhone orders. Then, TMO’s Nick deCourville reveals his Apple Watch SEcret science project.

Mac Geek Gab co-host Dave Hamilton is a watch guy. He joins us to talk the fixability of Apple Watch Ultra and watch wearing in general. Plus – So you want to destroy… I mean “stress test” and Apple Watch Ultra. Dave and Ken discuss ways they’d go about it, but we want to hear from you! How would YOU destroy… I mean “stress test” an Apple Watch Ultra? Let us know: [email protected] or @tmodaily on Twitter.

iPhone ASPs are headed higher – not once, but twice! Plus iPhone 14 production starts in India and Oprah and Apple TV+ redefine the nature of their association. TMO Managing Editor Jeff Butts joins us to break it all down.

Jeff Butts, Managing Editor of The Mac Observer, joins us today to talk about Apple Music’s sponsorship of 2023’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. Plus, who said anything about moving for iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island? So much magic!

Mac Observer managing editor Jeff Butts talks about his new iPhone 14 Pro — what he got, why he got it, and how it’s going. Plus — a small OS update from Apple that squishes several bugs.

The Mac Observer’s Nick deCourville joins us today to talk about buying his Apple Watch SE and his fascination with Crash Detection. Plus, a reminder to make sure Fall Detection is turned ON on your Apple Watch.
