This documentary is Peacock original and based a big fan of WWE by the name of Vladimir Abouzeide. This look into a man who grew in New York City and became one the most recognizable fans in attendance at any given WWE event in the New England area. Being recognized by some big names in WWE such Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Jeff Jarrett and others, this Superfans tells his story of triumph and tragedy.

This week the NFL held its first game in Frankfurt, Germany as the Miami Dolphins took on the Kansas City Chiefs. Thursday night saw the Tennessee Titans play against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Sunday night saw the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals and Monday night saw the San Diego Chargers and the New York Jets. Sunday afternoon featured games like Texans / Buccaneers, Cowboys / Eagles, Giants / Raiders, Commanders / Patriots & Browns / Cardinals.

This Netflix original film was co written and directed by Grant Singer in his directorial debut. Bencio Del Toro also co wrote the film and stars in it along with Alicia Silverstone & Justin Timberlake. In this film, a detective is investigating a murder mystery that leads down a rabbit hole of corruption and paranoia. This film debut at the Toronto Film Festival on September 7 and then had a brief theatrical run before being released on Netflix on September 29.

This film was based on the Disney theme park attraction of the same name and is the second film to be released. Eddie Murphy’s 2003 film was panned by critics but has gained a cult following since. This film has a star studded cast which include LaKeith Stanfield, Rosario Dawson, Owen Wilson, Tiffany Haddish, Danny DeVito, Jamie Lee Curtis & Jarod Leto. In this film, a widowed mother and her young son have moved to dreaded Gracey Manor in Louisiana I hopes to turn into a bed and breakfast but quickly learn that the mansion has some unwanted guests that have their mystery to solve and will soon need help to save both families. This film hit theaters earlier this year and was then released on Disney+ in October. While it didn’t do bad at the box office, it did receive mixed reviews from critics and continued Disney’s recent film downward spiral and unfortunately was released in the beginning stages of the 2023 SAG strike.

WWE’s Premium Live Event was held in Saudi Arabia and premiered on Peacock. The matches included “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes taking on one half of the Tag Team champions & Mr. Money in the Bank, Damien Priest, Iyo Sky puts the WWE Women’s Championship on the line against Bianca Belair, Seth Rollins defends the World Heavyweight Championship against “The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre, Rhea Ripley defends the Women’s World title against Nia Jax, Zoey Stark, Shayna Bazler & Raquel Rodriguez. After a 4 year absence, John Cena returns to in ring action to take on “The Enforcer” Solo Soka and then in the main event Roman Reigns puts the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the line against “The Megastar” L.A. Knight.

The Texas Rangers make history as they win the 2023 World Series for the first time in franchise history. The Rangers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 5 of the series as well defeating the Houston Astros in the Pennant, the Baltimore Orioles in the Divisional Round & the Tampa Bay Rays in the opening round.

This week in the NFL saw a few upsets as the winless Carolina Panthers defeated the Houston Texans, a showdown in New York saw the Jets and Giants battle in to overtime with the Jets coming away with the victory. Thursday night’s game was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers versus the Buffalo Bills, Sunday night’s game was the San Diego Chargers and the Chicago Bears and Monday saw the Detroit Lions and Las Vegas Raiders. Other Sunday afternoon games included Cowboys / Rams, 49ers / Bengals, Browns / Seahawks & Chiefs / Broncos.

Happy Halloween to all!!! We end our Halloween season with this psychological thriller that was written and directed M. Night Shyamalan in his directorial debut and stars Bruce Willis, Haley Joel Osment, Toni Collette, Olivia Williams & Donnie Wahlberg. In this film, a psychologist tends a 9 year old boy who has the ability to communicate with the dead and takes him on a journey to the great beyond. This film marked the beginning of Shyamalan’s career as a director and was praised by the critics and the Academy. It nominated for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay while Osment & Collette each received their Academy Award nominations. Osment would become the second youngest performer to receive on Academy Award nomination.

This crossover film hit theaters in 2003 and was directed by Ronnie Yu. This film was the 8th in the “Nightmare on Elm Street” franchise and the 11th film in the “Friday the 13th” franchise. The film sees Robert Englund return as “Freddy Kruger” and is joined by Monica Keena, Jason Ritter and Kelly Rowland. In this film, after Freddy Kruger was banished to hell, he resurrects, Jason Vorhees to spread fear across Elm Street so that he can return to full power but when Jason refuses to leave, Freddy must not only kill off more teenagers, he must kill the monster he created. This film marked the end of the Robert Englund run as “Freddy” as well as the end of the original “Friday the 13th” series before both franchises were eventually rebooted in later years.

Based on Stephen King’s short story of the same name, this film was directed by Rob Savage and stars Sophia Thatcher, Chris Messina & Vivian Lyra Blair. The film centers around a therapist and his 2 daughters who are struggling with the sudden and unexpected death of their mother and wife, but things take a dark and mysterious turn when an evil entity latches on to them and feeds off their grief and fear. This film was originally supposed to be a Hulu exclusive but after positive test screenings, it hit theaters in early 2023 before its digital release in October.
