Today, Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, we will take a short tour, looking at Dr. King's effect on the civil rights movement in America.

Today we'll see the problems that erupt between the French and English colonies, how war erupts, and who ends up victorious. We'll also see how the Native American tribes play into the war, and how it affects them.

On this tour we’ll see a lot of beginnings. We’ll first see the beginnings of slavery in the Americas - a topic we’ll continue to follow for quite some time through our history. We’ll also do a lightning tour of the beginnings of the Enlightenment and later the Great Awakening in America. Listen, and be enlightened! ;-)

It’s the witchy tour you’ve all been waiting for! This week, we delve into the culture of the colonies. We see some of the differences between the northern, middle, and southern colonies. We’ll take a closer look at Puritan life, and we’ll see if we can understand what in the world might have led to the Salem witch trials. See? You know you want to listen!

In this episode, we take a magical history tour through eleven of the thirteen British colonies and see how each one comes into being. From the Pilgrims and the Puritans in Massachusetts Bay to the former jailed debtors in the buffer state of Georgia, we tour the beginnings of each colony.

We'll have a guest appearance by Pocohontas, learn a little bit about indentured servitude in Virginia, and see how Lord Baltimore's attempt to set up a feudal society in Maryland wasn't probably the best idea.

In this episode, we travel to the Protestant Reformation, the Huguenots failed attempts to colonize the Americas, and we visit New France. Then we zip on over to see Roanoke and the first English attempts to colonize. We learn a very important tip while on this magical history tour, and that’s Never Leave Your Colony or very, very bad things happen.

In this episode, we travel to see Columbus sail the ocean blue, and both he and Cortés separately gang up on the native tribes in the Americas. There’s a rundown of the Columbian Exchange and the Spanish in the Americas, references to a Certain Simpsons Episode, and whole lot of epidemic diseases – and not just in the Americas.
