I took my kid to his first-ever football game and he did not like it, but the winner joined this week's top 10 and pulled into a 3-way tie at the top of C North.

Most people expected TA to rise to the top spot in the Power Rankings and there they are after a thrilling win over Noble. The rest of the top 10 has a couple of surprises, including an 8 man school and a team that's got a negative scoring differential.

One of the early surprises of the football season has been Falmouth. After a season in which they had to forfeit a game to Portland and players petitioned for a coaching change, the Navigators brought in new coach Spencer Emerson and they're off to a 3-0 start, with a huge win over Cony and the stingiest scoring defense in the state.

I sat down with Emerson to talk about the challenges of re-building a program from such a precarious starting point, getting players to buy in, learning from other coaches, and a ton more.
