This week we chat with James Wright from WoodbyWright about all things hand tool woodworking. Despite having a long background working with power tools, find out why James switched to hand tool shop and the lessons he has learned along the way.

This week we chat with Jimmy Diresta. Find out how Jimmy has been Making It with his skills and tools on TV, podcasts and YouTube for nearly 4 decades.
So if I had to guess, since you are listening to this podcast you’ve probably heard of Jimmy Diresta. You may have first seen him in the early 2000’s on TV in shows like Trash to Cash, Hammered, Against the Grain and Discovery’s Dirty Money. Or maybe you were like me and played with one of those weird squishy toy eye balls as a kid. Jimmy invented that, when he was a toy inventor. Or you stumbled across his YouTube channel which now has over 1 million subscribers. Where over 10 million people have watched his most popular video about making an electric guitar that looks like an AK47.

We chat with Dave Muson the founder of Saddleback Leather. Learn how Dave turned a service trip to Mexico to building a company that makes leather bags people will fight over when they die.
Saddleback makes amazing leather goods that includes: bags, briefcases, backpack, wallets and more.
The best part about Saddleback for me isn’t their bags (even they are great) but it’s the back story. As many of us are starting to set goals and dream about what 2018 can hold, you might be thinking.

If you seen anything Brad has done I bet it was first on Instagram. Even though he joined in 2013 his account, FixThisBuildThat has quickly become one of the go to spots in the maker and woodworking community. With over 225,000 followers Brad has leveraged his influence to create a sustainable full-time career through content creation.
In fact Brad just went full time in August of 2017, a story we get into here but he also digs into much deeper on his excellent podcast Made for Profit. On the podcast he partners with furniture maker (and x Pittsburgh Steeler) Brad Malecki. Each week they chat about the business of making and how you can turn a profit as a maker.
Another place you’ve definitely seen Brad is his Flip Top Tool Stand build which was the very first video he posted on YouTube. His channel is a little over a year old but is coming close to 100,000 subscribers.

Ben got his undergrad and Masters in Architecture from Cornell. He later went on to teach and lecture in the area of sustainable design. While in college he also co-founded his own architecture firm ZeroEnergy Design and in 2008 he launched FreeGreen.com which distributed green home designs all over the internet.
But I bet that wasn’t where you have seen Ben’s work. In June of 2013 he started his YouTube channel HomeMadeModern which currently has over 800,000 subscribers and just north 50 millions views during the past four years. What’s amazing about his channel is the limited amount of tools that Ben uses and then his ability to create unique and modern furniture that is highly accessible.
This week we are chatting Matt Cremona. Find out how Matt went from using a beer pong table in college for his furniture assembly to custom building a saw mill in his backyard.
This week we are joined by an awesome woodturner Donny Carter. Not only do we get into the best way someone can get into wood turning but we also chat about Donny's excellent podcast The Green Woodworker! Find out how the show started as well as some of Donny's favorite episodes!
