“We’re facing a global crisis” – Man City owners on delay in club investment
Manchester City’s owners, the City Football Group, were supposed to have taken over AS Nancy by now.
Reports of talks to do so emerged earlier this year and everything went very quickly, with it assumed Nancy would be brought into the City family, and potentially provide another club for Manchester City to loan players to.
Indeed, it was all supposed to be finalised by the end of March, with a press conference for early April set to reveal the deal and the new relationship.
French newspaper L’Equipe look at the situation on Sunday, and they’ve spoken to a source at the City Football Group, who told them: “There is still the will to buy AS Nancy. We are facing a global crisis. Today there are aspects that we do not control. But we haven’t changed direction.”

Joe Hart lifts lid on Pep Guardiola conversation
Joe Hart has revealed what Pep Guardiola told him ahead of his final competitive appearance for City.
Hart’s time at the Etihad was unexpectedly cut short soon after Guardiola’s arrival in the summer of 2016.
The long-serving goalkeeper played his final match against Steaua Bucharest, which he describes as the most “emotional” he has been involved in.
"Pep was making it very clear that I had to leave Manchester City," he said in an Instagram Live video.
"I played one game where it was a few days before the end of the transfer market, it was a Champions League qualifier against Steaua Bucharest. He asked me if I wanted to play and I just said: 'Listen, you're the manager. You decide whether I play or not, I don't make those decisions'.
"I played, it was at home, and it was emotional. It wasn't nice but it was also awesome to be in a stadium full of love and people who made it very clear that it wasn't their decision that I was leaving."

Silva picks toughest City game
David Silva made a surprising choice when asked about his toughest game for City.
The Spanish playmaker, who will depart the Etihad this summer, has made 423 appearances in 10 years at the club.
Silva has won four Premier League titles, five League Cups and two FA Cups in that time, and has faced some excellent teams in England and in Europe.
But the former Valencia man believes a trip to Hull City gave him the hardest 90 minutes he’s endured in a City shirt.
“There have been a lot of tough games, but to pick one — I think it was one against Hull City away in the 2013/2014 season,” he said.
“They sent off (Vincent) Kompany I think, and we really needed to win the game to win the league, so we did it, but it was tough to do that with ten men.“
