“Every life, even the clumsiest like my own, is a life of worth and honor.” Those words are part of my story “Bobby” that I share on my podcast The Martin Sheen Podcast and they are a profound personal realization of what it is to be human.

That is the very crux of my podcast, what it is to be human. And through sharing autobiographical stories and inspired poetry and person reflections, this is the theme I find myself exploring again and again. But I do so in the hope that it sparks listeners to see how it relates to their own lives and their own story of discovery.

I have often said “If it’s not personal, it’s impersonal.” And that is how I chose to approach my podcast and all its contents. From storytelling, to obscure as well as known poetry and book selections, each unique episode is not just a podcast, it is a journey we will go on together.

And I think it’s important you know that in this podcast I have no intension of leaving who I am at the door. Anyone who knows me knows I cannot share a personal story that doesn’t have some social justice concerns at its core. I have my convictions, and issues that draw on my empathy and compassion. It is what drives and informs my conscience and makes me how I am. How could I bring any less to this endeavor?
