"Masculinity" typically refers to a set of attributes, behaviors, and roles associated with boys and men by conventional society (often contrasted with femininity, although both are social constructs that can be expressed by anyone, regardless of gender). Common traits linked to the traditional definition of masculinity include strength, resilience, leadership, responsibility, honor, stoicism, and independence. 

But is this concept of “manhood” or “manliness” expected by society positive or negative? And, is the traditional masculine approach to things always the best approach?
