- They make reading a priority
- They read books that educate them
- They read books that inspire them
- This goes hand in hand with having a growth mindset

- Listen to audiobooks and podcasts and educational material
- What types of books should you read?

- Educational, motivational, inspirational
- What will reading do for you?

- Authors will become your mentors
- Dive in deeper to the authors that you like
Ex. My life changes when I started reading books by Grant Cardone and Tony Robbins
2. Working Out
- Successful people prioritize their health and fitness
- They take time to work out every day
- They know their energy level is tied to their level of fitness
- They create a routine that involves exercise
- How much are you working out? Every day? Once a week? Once a month?

- Do something that makes you sweat every day
- Do something that elevates your heart rate every day
- Is working out a part of your daily routine?

- Schedule time to work out
- Is working out a priority in your life?

- Make working out a priority and you will find the time to work out
- What type of exercise do you love?

- Find a sport or exercise that you love to do
- You need to fall in love with the process of working out
- Working out cannot be viewed as a punishment
Ex. Health and Fitness have always been a priority in my life. Grew up playing sports and continued those habits after my collegiate basketball career.
3. Successful Friends
- Successful people have successful friends
- They surround themselves with other successful people
- They surround themselves with other people that have money
- They are in mastermind groups
- They are constantly meeting other successful people
- Do you have a network of successful friends?

- What successful people do you know that you can reach out to today?
- Do you look to meet other successful people?

- Go to places and events where successful people are
- You are not going to meet other successful people at home or at the same places you have been going
- Are you in a mastermind group?

- Get yourself involved with a mastermind group of people who are doing more than you are
Ex. I created the very first mastermind that I was ever in. Found 4 people who were more successful than me, found a time we could all meet and asked for their advice and guidance.
4. Goal Oriented
- Successful people are goal oriented
- They stay focused on their goals
- They do not change their goals frequently
- They stick with it until they reach their goals
- They write their goals down in the morning and at night
- They have short term and long term goals
- They have an outline for how they want their life to turn out
- Do you have goals?

- The first step is to set goals for yourself
- What are your goals?

- You need to know what your goals are
- Keep them at the front of your mind
- Do you write your goals down every day?

- Take the time to write your goals down in the morning and at night
- Writing your goals down keeps your mind focused on what you need to do to reach your goals
- Does someone hold you accountable for taking action towards your goals?

- You need to find an accountability partner
- Someone needs to hold you accountable for taking action towards your goals
- There is no magic number for goals that you should have
- The important thing to remember is that your goals should be YOUR GOALS
- Your goals should excite you and motivate you to take action every day.
Ex. Basketball taught me the importance of being goal oriented. Junior high to High School to College
5. Wake Up Early
- Successful people wake up early
- Successful people are committed to success and motivated to wake up early
- They wake up early because they have a schedule and a plan
- They know they value of waking up early
- They know they can accomplish more when they wake up early
- They want to get a head start on their competition
- What time do you wake up every day?

- The time you wake up and the time you go to sleep go hand in hand
- Could you wake up earlier?

- Commit to yourself and decide today to start waking up an hour earlier
- How much more could you accomplish in your day if you woke up earlier?
- What benefits would you create for yourself if you woke up earlier?
- Decide the night before what time you are going to wake up

- Don't decide that morning if you "feel good enough" to wake up
- You will never feel like waking up in the morning
- You must be committed to the time you are going to wake up
Ex. When I wake up early my day is always better. I accomplish more and feel better about myself in general.
6. Multiple Income Streams
- Successful people have multiple streams of income
- They do not rely on one income stream
- They generate income multiple ways
- They generate income when you are not there, they do not have to be present to make money
- They don't have the mindset that they are going to trade their time for money
- Their income doesn't solely rely on punching into a time clock
- Do you have multiple streams of income?

- Start today to generate multiple streams of income
- Start to think about ways you could generate more income for yourself
- Is all your income coming from punching in and out of a time clock?

- Break the mindset that you need to trade your time for money
- Pay attention to your money

- Know how much money you have
- Know where your money is going
- Know where your money is coming from
- Know how your investments are doing
- Study your money and money in general
Ex. When I started working in Real Estate I broke the mindset of trading time for money and started to develop multiple income streams.
7. Have Mentors
- Successful people have mentors
- You are never to successful or unsuccessful for a mentor
- You can have as many mentors as you want
- Reach out to someone who has done more than you
- Find someone who is a step above where you want to be and ask them questions
- Take your mentor to lunch or dinner
- Ask questions and listen; don't be the one talking the whole time
- Do you have a mentor?

- Reach out to someone today for advice and guidance
- Who has accomplished what you want to accomplish?

- Find someone who has done exactly what you want to do
- Who could you invite to lunch to ask questions?

- Think about people you already know that could give you guidance
Ex. I ask everyone who has done more in the space that I'm working in if I can take them to lunch and buy them lunch and ask them questions for an hour. Doing this has helped me in so many ways.
8. Positive Attitude
- Successful people have positive attitudes
- Successful people think about their successes and don't dwell on failures
- They have a positive mindset
- Their positivity is one of their biggest strengths
- They don't allow negativity to bring them down
- They use their positive attitude to push through their failures
- Other people like to be around and do business with people who have positive attitudes
- Do you have a positive attitude?

- The first step to create a positive attitude is to aware of the times when you are negative
- Get in control of your attitude
- How do you view your challenges and problems?

- Become aware of how you view your challenges and problems
- Do you view them negativity or positively?
- How could you improve your attitude?

- Improve your attitude in every area of your life: home, work, school, friends, relationships
Ex. I haven't always had the most positive attitude but I became aware of it and worked to change my attitude. Saw positive results come from a positive attitude.
9. Not Followers
- Successful people are not followers
- Successful people are leaders
- Successful people set a good example for others
- They don't simply do what everyone else is doing
- They do the hard things that no one else wants to do
- They follow the path the isn't always the easy path
- They prioritize success and don't follow those who don't
- Would you categorize yourself as a leader or as a follower?

- Take the first step towards not being a follower
- How can you start to blaze your own path?
- What activities can you do that other people don't want to do?

- Success is found in doing the things that other people don't want to do or are too scared to do
- Do you follow anyone that you shouldn't?

- Stop having the follower mentality
- Follow the right people!
Ex. Feel like I have always been a leader in my life. Leader on sports teams and leader at school and work and in my relationships.
10. Friendly
- Successful people are friendly
- They are good people because they know being a good person gets them further in life and in business
- They are kind to everyone in their life
- People like to do business and be around other people who are friendly
- Are you being friendly to people in your life?

- How can you be more friendly?
- Who can you be more friendly to?
- Are you the type of person that other people want to be around?

- Commit today to be friendly in every one of your relationships
Ex. Being friendly has built lasting relationships in my personal and business lives.
11. Help Others Succeed
- Successful people help others succeed
- They have an abundance attitude not an attitude of scarcity
- They give back to others
- They give their time, talents and expertise
- They want to see other people succeed
- They are happy and support the success of others
- Do you help other people succeed?

- Think about someone you can help today
- Think about someone who you can help take a step towards success in their life
- Do you think of other people succeed then you can't?
- Do you get envious of other people's success?
- What is holding you back from being as successful as you want to be?

- The only thing holding you back in yourself
- Other peoples success will never limit your own success
- The success of other people should motivate you

- It shows that they have done it so you can do it too
- Commit to a life where you are always giving back
- Commit to a life where you are always helping others succeed
Ex. I constantly look for people that I can share my expertise too. People who genuinely want to succeed and will listen to the advice I give them.
12. Visualize Success
- Successful people visualize success
- They play their success through in their minds
- They live the success before it happens to them
- They have the vision of their ideal self in their mind
- They know what it will feel like to be successful
- They feel the feelings of success before they actually have the success
- They live their life as if they have already achieved the success that they desire
- Do you visualize your success?

- Take time every day to visualize your success
- Plan visualization in your day
- Be intentional with your visualization and visualize your ideal life
- What does success mean to you?
- What would success look like in your life?
- What would your successful body look like, your successful career, your successful family?

- Visualize all these different aspects of success in your life.
Ex. Visualizing success in my life started when I played sports. I would visualize how I wanted to play in the game before I every played the game. I would visualize shooting free-throws at crunch time, hitting jump shots with a defender in my face and driving down the lane and dunking on the other team.
13. Ask Questions
- Successful people ask questions
- They are curious
- They are interested in things
- They are engaged with whatever process they are trying to learn
- They have the mindset that they want to learn and to grow
- They aren't afraid to ask questions
- They know that asking questions don't make them dumb or stupid
- Do you ask questions in your life?
- Are you looking to grow and learn new things every day?
- In what area of your life could you ask more questions?
- What do you have a genuine interest in?
- What do you want to learn more about?
- Get in the habit of asking questions
Ex. In real estate I had a daily accountability partner who would ask me every day what the one thing was that I learned that day. From this I learned to ask questions all the time because I needed to learn something new every day. Asking questions became a habit.
14. Daily Priorities
- Successful people have daily priorities
- They prioritize their day
- They prioritize how they are going to spend their time
- They plan out and map out how they are going to spend their day
- They look at their goals and decide what their priorities are
- They decide what activities are going to bring them closer to their goals
- Do you prioritize your day?
- Do you have priorities planned and set for yourself every day?
- Do you work on your priorities until they are finished?
- Do you let other things distract you from your priorities?

- You need to be selfish in the fact that you need to work on your priorities before you work on anything else.
- Someone else's lack of planning does not constitute an emergency for you.
- Because someone else failed to plan their day does not mean that it should screw up the priorities that you have set for your day.
Ex. In real estate my 3 priorities were always to prospect for leads, go on appointments and negotiate contracts. Everything else in my day was secondary.
15. Don't Waste Time
- Successful people don't waste time.
- They understand how valuable time is
- They know they only have so much time in the day and they need to be as productive as possible.
- They value other people's time as well
- The move with urgency from activity to activity
- They don't have dead time in their schedules
- They don't spend large periods of time watching TV

- It's safe to say that no successful person watches TV for 4 hours every night
- Do you waste time?
- What are you wasting time on?
- How much more could you accomplish if you were efficient with your time?
- Do you waste time on your days off?
- What is your biggest time wasting activity?

- Cut out your biggest time wasting activity
- Planning your day will help you not waste time.
Ex. Being committed 100% to my goals helped me not waste time in my life. Times when I wasn't fully committed to my goals I would naturally waste more time because I wasn't focused on achieving a worthwhile goal for myself.
