ABOUT MATTHIAS MAZUR

Before business, Matthias was the #1 nationally ranked junior tennis player in Switzerland and represented the country on the European and World Junior Tour for years. He was recruited by Roger Federer’s coach as a top prospect, played against Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic on the international tour, and was lucky enough to even play with Federer himself a few times. As he was training for a pro career, an injury and illness ended it and he pivoted overnight by going all in on building businesses online in 2007. If I could go back and coach myself as a young entrepreneur, this is what I would teach myself.

For every level of success, there's a different mindset, but the one phrase that will always resonate with me is, "If they can do it, why not me?"

After adopting this mindset, here are seven things to consider on the journey to becoming a millionaire:

• Things will be tougher than you think
• Expect the people around you to not understand you
• Expect to see fake friends bring you down
• Remember who was there to support you 
• Make sure you know exactly what you want
• Reach out to people who have made it
• Keep pushing when things get tough
