The southernmost state of Mexico, Chiapas, is home to Zapatista rebels as well as a religion that is a syncretistic blend of Mayan rituals and Catholic practices. As such, evangelical Christians are the target of persecution, and are at times driven from their communities, losing their homes, farmlands, and livelihood.
