Welcome back to another thrilling episode of The Meat Grinder, a weekly look at high school football in Connecticut with GameTimeCT.com's Pete Paguaga and Sean Patrick Bowley.

Shelton gained some more support in the latest GameTimeCT Top 10 Football as Hand coach Erik Becker gave his endorsement and Ridgefield gave No. 1 Greenwich everything it could handle. But otherwise it was a relatively quiet Week 2 as teams settled back into league play.

It's only a short-lived reprieve, however, as a stocked and overflowing schedule of pivotal interconference showdowns, set up by the CT HS Football Alliance, threatens to upset the balance of power in the GameTimeCT Top 10.

No. 6 Southington coach Mike Dury joins us to talk about one of those games: His 2-0 team's road trip to face No. 1 Greenwich Saturday.

Week 1 is in the books and, while there were games that went according to form, there were plenty that didn't -- St. Joseph's 14-0 victory over No. 2 Darien jumps quickly to mind. So does West Haven beating up on Notre Dame-West Haven. Shelton's 55-14 wipeout of Ridgefield, too.

Pete and Sean are back with Episode II of Grinder, in which they attempt to sift through the Week 1 debris and try and make sense of the madness while pinning down some of the Week 1 stars who have somehow managed to elude them this preseason (we're looking at you Trumbull's David Johnston). 

The gang also breaks down the latest Top 10 poll and begin to look ahead to next week's games.
