Only Jesus knows where we are heading, so Christian mission is a journey of Holy Spirit empowerment to live the future life today.

Jesus repeatedly told his followers what the Kingdom of Heaven was like and yet we sometimes feel confused about what it is exactly. The Kingdom of Heaven is all around us when we embody the practices Jesus outlined for his disciples: radical forgiveness, radical welcome and radical peace.

Today we are asking: WHY did Jesus die? The Hebrew Bible claimed that one day, God would change the way God and people related to one another. This “new covenant” would be more intimate, and more relational – a covenant of love instead of law.

This Easter we reflect on Jesus as the ‘Son of God’, who saves us both from sin and death, but also to something; Jesus saves us today to have abundant life, to live in the light and to be a community of love.
