As Jesus people, we are not the ones with all the answers, rather, we are the ones with hope. We partner, wait, labour and celebrate with the One who does not grow tired or weary as He ushers in his incoming kingdom.

The Christmas story as fairytale, full of imagery and dramatic action, draws us into the larger narrative of who God is and how he partners with us – namely, that the battle we fight is being won in beautiful and unexpected ways.

Tapping into joy as a way of living generously helps us and allows us to extend that to others, especially when Christmas can be a hard season.

The truth is that Christmas is a tension between cheer and tragedy; God’s presence in the midst of, and even through, the grief and sorrow.
