How far ezinaụlọ (trans: family)?! I hope all of you are doing so incredibly well, I missed you guys- it's been a while and I'm really excited to be back and reflecting as much as possible with you all💫 In this week's diary entry, I did a lil recap of my first semester of sophomore year... I reflected on all of the highs and lows of the semester and some of the things that I had to work through and learn from in order to continue to grow within the journey that God has set for me. Last semester was a whirlwind to say the least, but it's definitely one that I wouldn't change for anything(well, maybe a little lol), but overall I'm just really excited for y'all to hear some of the things that have been going on in my life as of recently and also the things that I'm looking forward to in this new season. I am so grateful for every single one of you and I love all of you so so much, happy listening🤎🎧
What's up, y'all! I missed you guys(as I always do) and I hope that y'all have been doing so so well😘 In this week's spoken word diary entry we will be talking about silence and how both it and sacrifice go hand in hand. We will also be reflecting on what social justice means to us and what it means when it comes to movement work and creating spaces where we as people of color can form our own table, instead of fighting tirelessly for a seat at a table that doesn't welcome us with open arms. The heart of this week's entry stems from my current work with the organization that I have been interning for, No More Tears, and the focus that I have had in regard to dismantling our prison industrial complex, as well as the pathway of young children into the prison system. This complex that we have built with so much anger, shame, and corruption can no longer take our young Black girls and boys... the expectancy of young Black boys going to prison or jail at least once in their life can't continue to increase, as well as the absence of fathers in households of color at the hands of this system can't continue to become routine. We must break it and we must do so together. With all that being said, I hope all of you enjoy this week's entry and please know that I love all of you dearly, happy listening!🤎🎧
Ndewoo y'all! I hope you guys are doing so- so incredibly well😊 It's been a minute, but I'm back with season ✌🏾 of our spoken word diaries, I missed you guys so much and I'm really excited for y'all to listen in and get an update about what's been going on these past few months that I have been away. I hope all of you guys are well and giving yourselves so much love and care, remember you are worth it and that your happiness and wellness are important. Also, please stay healthy(no sickness), I caught the flu a week ago and I am in a one-on-one battle with this cough y'all, it's not fun. So, please take your vitamins and drink your warm lemon and ginger water because it's not fun. Anywho, lol, I love all of you more than you know and enjoy luvs. Happy listening!🤎🎧
What's up y'all?! I hope all of y'all are doing so well and having such an amazing summer. Can y'all believe that summer is almost over(*tear drop)?! I have to report back to school soon and I don't know how I feel about it, but that's a conversation for later, lol. In this week's diary entry, it's all about how we love and how we choose to express that love. It's similar to the entry about relationships that I talked about with y'all not too long ago, but I think this one specifically focuses on the different things we utilize to measure our worthiness of loving and being loved. Also, how we measure our desirability and our ability to forgive and love ourselves regardless of the past. This entry was inspired by oliSUNvia and her video called "our conception of love is messed up", and I think the way in which she breaks down the different themes regarding love is really powerful, thus it was something that inspired me to do the same. I hope y'all enjoy this entry and I am sending you all so much love and light! Please take care of yourselves, remember to show yourselves grace and love. Happy listening!🤎🎧
What's up, y'all?! I hope y'all are doing so incredibly well and giving yourselves so much grace😊 Soooooo, this week's diary entry is all about the claim that women are more emotional than men. I really wanted to do some research into this topic simply because I wanted to know if there was any truth to the claim because your girl was feeling a certain typa way, lol🙈 butttt, after my research, I actually found that the statement isn't true and it has in fact been debunked, so I really wanted to share all of the knowledge with all of you and my own little two senses on the topic. My initial inspiration for this week's entry was simply from the statement itself, but I also came across the Fresh and Fit podcast and one of their clips caught my attention, so I really wanted to talk about this statement/topic and you'll see why when I get into it in this week's diary entry:)))) I love all of y'all so much and I hope that y'all enjoy this entry. Remember to show so much love to yourself and those around you, as well as find and do what makes you so ridiculously happy! Happy listening🤎🎧
Note: Bruh, your girl be stuttering so much in our entries, like get it together DaAujana😫 butt anyways, I hope y'all love it. I need to work on talking at the speed that my thoughts flow😂
What's up y'all?! I hope all of you are doing so well! I am really excited about this week's entry because it was really fun to make, like really freakin fun and I'm really excited(also, nervous but not really) for y'all to tune in. In today's entry, I unpack relationships(both romantic and friendly ones) and the things I have drawn from both observation and personal experience. I dive into my own personal experience(my high school crush) and I low key embarrass myself, but it's okay because it's all a part of a bigger picture😂 My embarrassing stories start from 22:35 to 38:00, I hope y'all get a laugh or a smile out of it, lol. I also just go into lessons that I have learned and things I think that we should all remember in order to not get so caught up in expectations and all dat, so I hope you all enjoy this entry so much and I love all you<3 Happy listening!🤎🎧
What's up, y'all! I hope all of you are doing so well and are having the best summers ever🤎 In this diary entry, I talk about perfectionism, don't we just love it? eye roll, lol. I wanted to unpack the idea of perfectionism and how it's influence has shaped certain times/parts of my life, specifically during high school and my first year of college. When it comes to perfectionism, it's truly a joke, we are not meant to be perfect and we are perfectly imperfect in fact. if we were all perfect, where would the room for growth be? Who would we look forward to becoming for ourselves if we were already our "perfect selves" according to society's standards? Life would be uninteresting, boring as we know it and there would be nothing new to discover, mountains to climb, things to fail at, and things to succeed at. Sooo yeah, anywho(😂), I hope y'all enjoy this entry and I love all of you, happy listening🤎🎧
Note: Also, this is a pre-recorded entry, so the intro is a little old, but anywaysss, ENJOY!🤎
Hey, y'all! I hope all of you are doing so well and are showing yourselves love and grace, especially during these times. In today's diary entry I wanted to reflect on today, June 24th, a day that will go down in history. Today, the case Roe v. Wade was overturned and to say that this overturn has rocked the nation would be an understatement. In this entry, I wanted to do due diligence to women and children, especially children and I wanted to reflect on how this changes everything. How it now contributes further to our toxic legal system and power structures, as well as how it now affects the amount of children in the foster care system and the most prominent subjects, women. My intention was not for this entry to come off as a rant, but as a space that I am holding conversation with myself and y'all for reflection on something that affects not only me as a Black woman, but so many other women. I do want to apologize in advance for the awkwardly long pauses(and little mouth sounds that you probably can't really hear, but of course I can🙄) I was trying to articulate myself while trying to organize my scattered brain, so please bear with me, lol. I hope that you all enjoy this week's diary entry and I hope that y'all stay well and in thee best spirits🤎 I love you all, happy listening!🎧
What's up y'all?! I know, it's been a minute and I know that every time I say it's been a minute it's really been years, lol. But, I'm back and I finally have tons of time on my hands, sooooo it's bag time😉 In this diary entry, I wanted to pay tribute to the parents and students of Robb Elementary- this is an event that has shook the nation and so many within the Uvalde community and I wanted to share as much love and light as I could through this entry. I hope y'all are staying well and safe as well as continuing to listen into the stories of those in Uvalde and keeping everyone in your hearts. I know I am🤎 I love all of y'all to the moon and back, happy listening🎧
Y'all! It's been a minute and I don't have a good reason for my absence and lack of posting, crying in disappointment. I've been kinda really busy with school and exams, but I've really just lacked inspiration as of this past month, but I'm back, for real and I think I have some ideas for topics. In this diary entry though( that's literally from February, oop), we talk about Black History Month and the narrative behind it. We also just catch up on things and yuh, that's kinda all the vibes. I hope y'all are doing so well and I send you all my love. Happy listening!<33333
