  • Ep 824: Be Curious

Being curious is a great way to connect with people. You know that feeling when you meet someone who's genuinely interested in what you have to say? That's the power of curiosity at work! When you're curious about someone, you're more likely to ask questions, listen actively, and show them that you care. And who doesn't love feeling cared for?

It also helps me step out of my comfort zone. Think about it - if you're always sticking to the same old routine, you're never going to learn anything new or experience anything exciting. But when you're curious, you're more likely to try new things, take risks, and push your boundaries. Who knows? You might discover a hidden talent or passion you never knew you had!

When you're curious about something, you're more likely to seek out information, resources, and connections that can help you achieve your goals. And who knows? Maybe that random Google search will lead you down a rabbit hole that ends in your dream job or your next big adventure.

So, my fellow curious creatures, keep asking those questions, keep exploring new horizons, and keep your eyes peeled for all the amazing opportunities waiting for you out there. You never know what you might find!

    Stay curious!

  • Ep 822: Deliver on Your Promises

In this episode I discuss the importance of delivering on your promises.

Making a promise is easy, but fulfilling it can be challenging. It takes effort, commitment, and integrity to deliver on your promises. However, failing to do so can have serious consequences on your reputation, relationships, and credibility.

When you make a promise, you create an expectation in the minds of others. People trust you and rely on you to keep your word. If you fail to deliver on your promises, you risk losing that trust and damaging your relationships. This can result in missed opportunities, lost business, and damaged reputation.

On the other hand, fulfilling your promises can have numerous benefits. It helps you build trust, establish credibility, and enhance your reputation. It can also help you strengthen your relationships and create a positive impact on the people around you.

So, what can you do to ensure that you deliver on your promises? Here are a few tips:

Firstly, be realistic about what you can promise. Don't overcommit or promise things that are beyond your control or capabilities.

Secondly, communicate clearly with the people you are making promises to. Make sure they understand what you are promising and what they can expect from you.

Thirdly, prioritize your promises and focus on fulfilling the most important ones first. This will help you manage your time and resources more effectively.

Lastly, be accountable for your promises. If you can't deliver on a promise, be honest and upfront about it. Take responsibility for your actions and work towards finding a solution or alternative.

Delivering on your promises is crucial for building trust, credibility, and relationships. It requires effort, commitment, and integrity, but the rewards are worth it. So, always strive to keep your promises and fulfill your commitments to the best of your ability.

  • Ep 820: The Other Person's Perspective

Relationships are an important part of our lives, and effective communication and empathy are essential for building and nurturing them. Sometimes, we may find ourselves in situations where we're not seeing eye-to-eye with the other person. In those cases, it's helpful to ask ourselves some questions to gain a better understanding of their perspective. Here are three questions to consider:

    1. Am I always 100% right?
    2. It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that we're always right, but the truth is that we all have blind spots and biases that can affect our perception of a situation. By acknowledging the possibility that we may not be right, we open ourselves up to alternative perspectives and solutions. We can ask ourselves, "What if I'm wrong?" and consider other viewpoints and possibilities.

      1. Is there a chance that I don't have all the information and there may be an alternate approach?
      2. Similar to the first question, it's important to recognize that we may not have all the information we need to make an informed decision or to fully understand the other person's perspective. By asking ourselves if there's a chance that we're missing something, we can seek out more information and consider other approaches. We can ask the other person questions to gain a better understanding of their thoughts and feelings and work together to find a solution that works for everyone.

        1. Is there a possibility that the other person has something going on in their life?
        2. We all have our own personal struggles and challenges that can affect our behavior and communication with others. By considering the possibility that the other person may be dealing with something in their personal life, we can approach the situation with empathy and understanding. We can ask questions like, "Is everything okay?" or "Is there anything I can do to help?" to show our support and willingness to listen.

In conclusion, asking ourselves these questions can help us build stronger relationships by gaining a better understanding of the other person's perspective. It's important to approach the situation with an open mind and a willingness to listen and learn. By doing so, we can foster empathy, build trust, and strengthen our relationships with others.
