The countries Mercy Ships serves can’t offer proper, timely surgical care.

Christel Echu is a screening nurse onboard our hospital ship, the Africa Mercy. 

Meeting immediate medical needs in the countries we serve is vitally important for each patient. But our efforts have a much broader scope.

Patients come to our hospital ships for free surgery. But it can feel like entering a new and intimidating world — with all crew members from different cultures, speaking different languages.
