Many of the patients onboard our hospital ships have hardly been touched at all by another human being because of their deformities. But mercy can change that! 

It all started on a sunny spring day in 2007. Lesley Greene and her husband were strumming their ukuleles on the front porch in Ithaca, New York. 

Thirty-year-old Mariama lived with a painful toothache for six months. Her sister brought her to our free Mercy Ships dental clinic.

At one time, Asheboro, North Carolina, was one of the fastest-dying towns in America. But Dustie Gregson changed that. 

One of the specialties onboard our hospital ships is plastic reconstructive surgeries. We correct deformities caused by scarring from burns, benign tumors, illness, and birth defects… all free of charge. 

Many children come to our hospital ship suffering from orthopedic deformities. Others have lost the use of limbs due to severe burns. 

Imagine 135 elementary school kids in snowsuits hitting the slopes at a ski resort. It’s recess on steroids! 

Tobias Klauke is a math teacher onboard our hospital ship, the Africa Mercy. One day his sixth-graders were talking about circles and the value of Pi.

Huron, California, is an agricultural community.  Most residents live in poverty.  

The countries Mercy Ships serves have little or no healthcare delivery system. The children suffer from orthopedic problems made much worse because of the lack of treatment.
