Clarence was an 81-year-old Army veteran who was battling cancer.  His cupboards were empty, and he was hungry. 

It was Sunday morning in the hospital chapel onboard our hospital ship. The church service was underway, and the African music was lively.  

Dr. Paul Brand grew up in India as the son of missionary parents. He studied in England to become an orthopedic surgeon. 

Mercy Ships volunteers visited an elderly woman who was dying of cancer. They found her lying on a mat on the floor of her house. 

Morrie Boogaart passed away on February 9, 2018, at the age of 93.  He was known as the Hat Man because he made hats for the homeless for 15 years. 

It takes courage for some of our patients to come to our hospital ship for help. Many have spent years suffering due to lack of any health care. 

Bill Wallace was a missionary doctor in China in 1935. He was known as a kind man and a committed servant of Christ.

Jimmy was living in the local marketplace when Mercy Ships crewmembers met him. The 26-year-old had a sweet spirit in spite of terrible pain and the rejection caused by the foul odor of his infected leg. 

Over a hundred years ago in a Scottish inn, some fishermen were relaxing after a long day at sea. A serving maid walked past, carrying a pot of tea, as a man waved his arm to describe a big fish.
