It was a cold January day. Eleven-year-old Cruz and his ten-year-old friend Anthony had a dilemma. 

Mercy Ships volunteer Mirjam first saw little Siara at a patient screening in the Congo. The one-year-old baby weighed just 7 pounds and had a cleft lip and palate.

Ibrahim is a happy baby — totally unaware of his clubfeet.  His loving mother brought him to our hospital ship. 

Mercy Ships sends screening teams to remote African areas to find people who desperately need surgical help.

Mae Tai O’Malley’s parents were very career-oriented when she was young, so she and her brother often took care of themselves. She knew that she wanted to be more present in her own children’s lives.

Mercy Ships offers free surgical care in countries struggling to care for their own people. We also increase their ability to do that by offering training opportunities.

Fatmata’s family was devastated when her legs first started bending severely. Over time, she wasn’t able to walk to school. 

Bright Endeavors is a socially conscious company based in Chicago. It teaches new moms, ages 16 to 24, to make premium soy candles. 

The hospital ward was filled with patients of all ages. Some were recovering from an operation, some about to go into surgery.

You know, showing mercy to others can be very simple. It’s all about being the hands and the feet of Jesus to meet needs.  Marlene Marmo responded to a need very close to home.
