On our hospital ship, the Africa Mercy, you’ll find volunteers from every corner of the earth. 

Worship time in the ward onboard our hospital ship is noisy.  It’s a beautiful time – everyone sings and many dance.

Volunteer crewmembers often find unexpected opportunities for mercy when they step off our hospital ship.  Volunteer Peter Koontz describes such an experience.

When Mike and Susan Silverstein committed to Mercy Ships for two years, they were unsure of the people they would meet.  But, one late night surprise gave them a pretty clear picture.

Eleven-year-old Dudou’s stepmother brought him to the Mercy Ship for eye surgery.  She told the nurse, “He’s such an ugly child.”
